Bridges in Yosemite 1929

 

 

In 1929 we had a wonderful time in Yosemite.
I rented a movie camera to go and take pictures
of my father's seventieth birthday with all of
the Bridge family. That was really the first time
that I used a movie camera to any extent and
it was fun. At Yosemite they had built this
slope, Ashcan Alley, and you went up a ladder
and then you'd go down a chute and they had
taken the handles off the top of garbage cans and
you would sit in that and you'd go down this
chute that was filled with snow. We just had a
wonderful time and I did become interested in
taking movies. So whenever we wanted movies,
I'd just rent a movie camera and do it.
